SRINAGAR, Dec 09: The Jammu and Kashmir Transport Welfare Association has called for a one-day token strike on December 15 to protest long-pending issues threatening the sector’s survival.
Association General Secretary Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf announced the decision at a Srinagar press conference, stating transporters from both Jammu and Kashmir divisions unanimously backed the action against government neglect. He highlighted the transport sector’s “imminent collapse” due to unregulated e-bus operations, sharp rises in fitness and green taxes, and arbitrary e-challans.
Yousuf warned of a seven-day ultimatum post-strike, threatening escalated action if demands remain ignored
