JAMMU, MAR 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday interacted with students from Army Goodwill School (AGS), Saujiyan, Poonch, who are visiting Jammu as part of the J&K Integration Tour under Operation Sadbhavana. The tour, organised by the White Knight Corps, aims to foster national integration and the holistic development of children from remote border villages.
Sinha praised the Indian Army’s sustained efforts in the welfare and development of youth in border areas, highlighting that such initiatives nurture young minds and strengthen the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The contingent of 33 students, accompanied by teachers and Army personnel, shared their experiences from the tour, describing it as both educational and emotionally enriching.
The primary objective of the tour is to give children from border villages exposure to the nation’s cultural, social, and institutional framework, while building confidence and a sense of belonging. The itinerary included visits to Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu, and Srinagar, with first‑time experiences such as rail travel to Srinagar, visits to urban centres like shopping complexes, the Air Force Station at Jammu, and closer exposure to the Army’s way of life, all of which significantly broadened the students’ outlook and self‑assurance.
