NEW DELHI, JUN 10 : BJP president Nitin Nabin on Monday said that Jammu and Kashmir, earlier known for youth involved in stone pelting, has now earned recognition as a Ranji Trophy champion.
Addressing a press conference at Bharat Mandapam ahead of the completion of 12 years of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nabin said the government follows a “zero tolerance” policy towards terrorism and has brought significant change in the region.
He said Naxalism has been eliminated in several areas, improving the lives of people, and added that Operation Sindoor reflected India’s firm response to terrorism and its supporters.
“The Prime Minister has a zero tolerance policy on terrorism. India’s approach has transformed globally and is now widely recognised,” he said.
Referring to Jammu and Kashmir, Nabin said the region has witnessed a major shift, adding that youth who were once “known for stone pelting” are now participating in mainstream development and sporting achievements.
He credited government policies for reshaping the mindset of young people and integrating them into India’s growth story.
The BJP president also highlighted key decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370, construction of the Ram Temple, and welfare schemes aimed at inclusive development.
He said India has moved forward significantly since 2014 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing progress in governance, digital infrastructure, welfare delivery, and economic reforms.
Nabin further noted the expansion of direct benefit transfers, financial inclusion through Jan Dhan accounts, and large-scale infrastructure development across sectors including highways, railways, airports, and metro networks.
He added that initiatives like Swachh Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Make in India, Startup India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat have strengthened self-reliance and improved public welfare delivery.
Reiterating the government’s development vision, he said the next phase aims to build a “Viksit Bharat” by focusing on innovation, manufacturing, and global competitiveness.
