JAMMU, Feb 20: The Jammu and Kashmir government told the Legislative Assembly that over ₹1,684 crore in land compensation has already been released for Ring Road projects across the Union Territory, though some payments and cases still lag due to disputes.
Answering MLA Devyani Rana, Revenue Department officials explained the Jammu Ring Road spans Jammu and Samba districts, while Kashmir’s covers Srinagar, Baramulla, Pulwama, Budgam, Ganderbal, and Bandipora. NHAI covers 90% with the UT chipping in 10%.
In Jammu division, ₹270.11 crore of the ₹322.21 crore awarded is paid—₹52.10 crore pending. Kashmir division has released ₹1,514.34 crore from ₹1,784.49 crore total, with ₹270.15 crore left; of disbursable funds, ₹1,450.94 crore is out and ₹63.40 crore awaits.
Pending cases persist: Jammu (112 cases), Samba (38); Kashmir—Srinagar (57), Baramulla (7), Budgam (247), Ganderbal (905), Bandipora (32). Delays stem from litigation, court references, fund shortages, and title fights. ₹3.73 crore for Jammu is on Bhoomi Rashi portal; ₹28.20 crore sits in High Court over custodian disputes. Dispute-free cases flow steadily via the portal.
