Jammu, Jan 28: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired the 15th High-Level Committee meeting of the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), directing all departments to complete advance planning, tendering, and infrastructure works within the next month to ensure seamless arrangements for the annual Amarnath Yatra.
Emphasizing safety as the top priority, Dulloo instructed Anantnag and Ganderbal Deputy Commissioners to identify and mark all disaster-prone zones along Baltal and Pahalgam routes, banning tents or structures in high-risk areas while mandating robust SOPs from Disaster Management for pilgrim protection.
Key focus areas included power line maintenance by PDD, water works by Jal Shakti, traffic decongestion plans, enhanced medical facilities with base hospitals at Chandanwari and Baltal, RFID registration enforcement, daily IMD weather updates, and comprehensive sanitation with toilets, water supply, and cleaning staff across camps.
Dulloo reviewed departmental roles, budgets, and last year’s improvements presented by SASB CEO Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, stressing inter-agency coordination, holding capacity augmentation, and full functionality of lighting, generators, communication towers, and other essentials before yatra commencement.
