Jammu, Feb 28: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has congratulated the J&K Ranji Trophy team on its historic triumph, announcing a cash reward of ₹2 crore for the players and support staff following their emphatic victory over Karnataka on their home turf.
Describing the title win as a “watershed moment” for Jammu and Kashmir cricket, the Chief Minister said the historic achievement has filled the entire Union Territory with pride and inspiration. He added that the squad, coaching staff, and management would be eligible for government appointments under the recently notified rules for outstanding sportspersons, as part of the administration’s push to promote sports and reward excellence in the region.
