Srinagar, Sep 2: A high-level meeting was held at the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Wednesday to review preparations for the implementation of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) ahead of the forthcoming Autumn Session.
The meeting was chaired by Achal Sethi, Secretary, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, in coordination with Manoj Kumar Pandit, Secretary, J&K Legislative Assembly.
The meeting reviewed various arrangements required for the effective rollout and functioning of the NeVA platform, which is aimed at enabling digital and paperless legislative proceedings.
Officials discussed technical preparedness, digital processing of legislative business, system integration and coordination among the departments concerned. Emphasis was laid on completing all technological and administrative arrangements well before the commencement of the Autumn Session.
The NeVA platform is designed to facilitate the digital handling of legislative documents and business, reducing dependence on physical paperwork and streamlining communication among the Assembly, legislators and government departments.
The officials stressed the importance of close coordination among all stakeholders to ensure smooth conduct of legislative proceedings through the digital platform.
The meeting concluded with directions to concerned officials to complete pending technical and procedural requirements within the stipulated timelines for seamless functioning of the paperless Assembly.
