Jammu, Feb 6: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu arrested Assistant Sub Inspector Mohinder Lal from Police Station Khour for demanding and accepting a ₹5,000 bribe to act against a complainant’s harassing relative.
ACB registered FIR No. 02/2026 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, after verifying the ASI’s demand to intervene in assaults on the complainant’s cousin’s husband.
A trap team caught Mohinder Lal red-handed accepting the bribe from the complainant in front of independent witnesses. He was arrested on-site, bribe money recovered, and his official residence at P/S Khour searched in a magistrate’s presence.
Investigation continues.
