JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 29: Jammu Police arrested an inter-state drug peddler and recovered 21.04 grams of a heroin-like substance during a special operation at Machine Domana, police officials said.
The action was carried out as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan against drug trafficking. Acting on specific information, a team from Police Station Domana apprehended the accused during an operation in the area.
The accused has been identified as Rohit Kumar, son of Tarsem Lal, a resident of Labour Colony, Jawahar Nagar Camp, Ludhiana.
During his personal search, police recovered 21.04 grams of the suspected heroin-like substance, which was seized following due legal procedure.
Police have registered FIR No. 207/2026 at Police Station Domana under Sections 8, 21 and 22 of the NDPS Act, and the accused has been arrested.
Further investigation is underway to establish the forward and backward linkages of the alleged drug network and identify other individuals involved.
Jammu Police said it remains committed to a zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking and will continue enforcement operations under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan to curb the drug menace.
