Jammu, Dec 13: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) issued an official order on Saturday announcing phased winter vacations for government and recognized private schools in the summer zone areas of Jammu Division, ensuring a staggered closure to balance academic needs.
Pre-primary to Class 5 students will enjoy winter break from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026. Classes 6 to 8 will follow from December 26, 2025, to January 10, 2026, while higher classes (9 to 12) get time off starting December 29, 2025, until January 10, 2026.
All teaching staff must remain available throughout the vacation period for any required academic activities and report back to schools on January 10, 2026. The DSEJ has warned that heads of institutions or staff violating the schedule face strict action under relevant rules, with the order approved by competent authorities and circulated for immediate compliance.
