Leh, Sept 17: The 5th Battalion of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) organised a Medical and Sports Camp under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) in the Vibrant Village of Kargyam, blending healthcare outreach with community recreation.
The day-long event featured sports tournaments and medical consultations aimed at engaging the local population and addressing their essential needs. Villagers enthusiastically participated in volleyball and badminton competitions, which not only showcased local sporting talent but also fostered a spirit of teamwork and camaraderie among the youth.
Simultaneously, a medical camp was set up to provide free healthcare services to the villagers. Specialist consultations were made available, with children receiving particular attention. Dr. Veena, a paediatrician, examined young patients and extended preventive care advice, while medicines were distributed to those in need.
The initiative by 5th Battalion ITBP reflects the dual focus of CAP—promoting physical fitness through sports and ensuring health access in remote border villages.
