DUBAI, JULY 15: Jordan on Wednesday said it intercepted and shot down three missiles launched by Iran that were targeting the kingdom, marking a fresh escalation in regional tensions.
The missile attack came shortly after the United States reimposed a naval blockade on Iran following Tehran’s attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Jordan’s military confirmed the interceptions in a statement carried by the state-run Petra news agency. Iran had earlier claimed responsibility for the missile attack.
