New Delhi, Jun 27: Intelligence agencies have issued a security alert for Delhi and Uttarakhand following inputs about a suspected threat from Khalistani terrorists targeting key locations in the coming days, sources said.
According to intelligence inputs, temples in Delhi and Uttarakhand, government establishments, railway stations and police installations are among the potential targets. The threat was reportedly communicated through an email referencing several religious sites, government offices and political leaders.
Following the alert, the Delhi Police, Uttarakhand Police and intelligence agencies have intensified security measures and heightened surveillance at sensitive locations. Authorities are also investigating the email to verify its authenticity and trace its origin.
The latest alert comes months after similar intelligence warnings ahead of Republic Day and another alert in February regarding a possible terror threat near Delhi’s Red Fort and the Chandni Chowk area. Officials said security agencies remain on high alert as investigations continue.
