

Leh, Sept 19: The Force Ibex Battalion under Fire and Fury Corps organised the Operation Sadbhavana Ladakh Regional Archery Competition 2025 at Phyang on Thursday, drawing twelve teams of top archers from across the region. The tournament witnessed spirited contests and was marked by a display of talent and sportsmanship.
At the closing ceremony, the winner, runners-up and best archer were felicitated in the presence of Modern Archery Players Association President Tsewang Dorjey and Councillor of Phyang Constituency Tundup Nurbu, who attended as guests of honour.
In a major boost for the sport, the Fire and Fury Corps announced that the top eight players from the competition would be taken to Jharkhand for training and exposure at the Tata Archery Academy. The initiative is expected to broaden opportunities for Ladakhi archers and refine their competitive edge.
The event, conducted under the ambit of Operation Sadbhavana, was aimed at strengthening youth engagement while promoting traditional sports. The Army underlined that such initiatives reflect its endeavour to encourage sporting culture, nurture local aspirations and deepen the bond of cooperation with the people of Ladakh.
