Kargil, Sept 23: In a heartwarming display of service and solidarity, the Indian Army, under Operation Sadbhavana, organised a series of medical camps in the remote border villages of Aryan Valley, bringing vital healthcare to communities living in some of the most isolated terrains of Ladakh. The camps were held at Hanu Yogma on September 14 and at Silmo on September 21, covering both Leh and Kargil districts.
The initiative was aimed not only at addressing healthcare challenges but also at strengthening the spirit of unity, compassion, and national development in these far-flung regions.
A team of experienced medical experts and specialists—spanning fields such as dentistry, ophthalmology, and general medicine—extended their services to residents who otherwise face severe limitations in accessing advanced healthcare facilities. From routine check-ups to specialized consultations, the camps offered comprehensive solutions to a wide array of health concerns.
Beyond medical treatment, the Army also distributed essential healthcare aids to enhance the quality of life for those in need. UV-protected sunglasses, lumbar belts, walking sticks, wheelchairs, life-saving equipment, and prescribed medicines were provided free of cost, ensuring that patients received holistic care and support.
Locals expressed deep gratitude for the initiative, noting that such camps not only improve health outcomes but also foster a strong sense of trust and belonging between the armed forces and the civilian population.
