SINGAPORE, SEP 22 : India has advised its nationals not to misuse Malaysia’s 30-day visa-free entry facility to seek employment in the country.
In an advisory posted on X, the High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur said it had observed a “noticeable increase” in Indian nationals travelling to Malaysia after allegedly being misled by unscrupulous agents with false promises of jobs.
The High Commission clarified that Malaysia’s 30-day visa-free entry facility is intended only for tourism and social visits and does not permit visitors to take up employment.
Indian nationals seeking jobs in Malaysia have been advised to follow the country’s applicable visa and employment regulations and obtain the required permissions before taking up work
