Leh, Mar 10: A group of ten Indian Administrative Service officers from the 2025 batch visited the District Institute of Education and Training, Leh, on Sunday as part of their exposure programme aimed at familiarising them with grassroots education institutions.
The officers were received by the Principal of DIET Leh, who welcomed them and provided an overview of the institute’s mandate in strengthening the school education framework through teacher training and academic guidance to schools.
During the visit, the probationers were introduced to the operational structure of DIET and its role in supporting educators through training modules and academic resource development. Officials explained how the institute assists schools in refining classroom practices and improving learning outcomes across the region.
The officers toured several facilities within the campus, including the VSK Lab, the Mathematics Lab, and the Balvatika Room. They observed a range of teaching-learning materials and innovative training practices designed to enhance pedagogical skills among teachers and support early childhood education.
DIET officials also briefed the visiting officers on the institute’s ongoing activities, particularly programmes designed to equip teachers with updated instructional approaches and strengthen academic support systems for schools.
The interaction provided the officers with an opportunity to engage with the institute’s faculty and staff, gaining first-hand insights into the initiatives being undertaken to improve the quality of education in the district.
The exposure visit formed part of the officers’ broader training aimed at familiarising them with institutional mechanisms that contribute to educational development at the district level.
