Leh, Aug 14: Under the aegis of the North West Frontier of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), a vibrant Har Ghar Tiranga cycle rally was organised the other day, marking a spirited display of patriotism and environmental commitment. The rally commenced from the ITBP campus and culminated at the scenic Sindhu river ghat, drawing enthusiastic participation from ITBP Himveers, local residents, and school students.
The event was held as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, celebrating the spirit of Independence Day while fostering civic responsibility. The cycling contingent, dressed in the tricolour theme, carried the national flag through the streets of Leh, receiving warm applause from bystanders.
Upon reaching the Sindhu river ghat, the participants took part in a large-scale Sindhu River Cleanliness Drive. The initiative aimed to preserve the ecological sanctity of the river, which holds cultural, historical, and environmental significance for Ladakh and the nation. Armed with cleaning tools and protective gear, ITBP personnel, students, and volunteers worked shoulder to shoulder to remove waste and debris from the riverbank.
Local community members expressed appreciation for the ITBP’s outreach efforts, noting that such collaborations strengthen bonds between security forces and the civilian population while instilling values of environmental stewardship among the younger generation.
