Leh, Sept 21: The Chairman, Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson Saturday chaired a meeting with senior Army officials to address long-pending issues related to defence land transfers in Leh.
Key decisions were taken to settle the transfer of equal value land for Zorawar Fort and CTA infrastructure at Nurla Phase-I, retain Shoksey Pema land as a heritage site, and hand over 18 acres at Nimu Garrison to the civil authorities while adjusting the value of existing infrastructure.
The CEC also directed Revenue authorities to process remaining requirements and assured resolution of the long-pending Basgo land issue in consultation with stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by ACR Leh Shabir Hussain; Brigadier KMS Rana, HQ Nimu; Brigadier Ajay Katoch, YSM, SM, Station Commander Leh Military; Col. Anil Verma, SO Land 14 Corps; Col. Saras Handa, SO Land Leh Military; Col. Bobby Jasrotia, SM, HQ Nimu; Col. B. Jasrotia, SO Land Nimu; DEO Mohammad Nawaz Sharaf Ud Din and Dorjey Gyaltsan Tehsildar Leh.
Later in the day a delegation led by Councillor Padma Dorjey from Kargil, representing the residents of Stakchay Khangral (Bodh Kharboo) Constituency, along with BJP Constituency President Padma Norboo, former Nambardar, Asian Para Taekwondo Champion Rinchen Youdol and others, called on Chairman, CEC, Tashi Gyalson.
The delegation first extended their congratulations on the inauguration of the new Council Secretariat building and subsequently discussed the aspirations of the Asian Para Taekwondo Champion.
The regular nursing staff of SNM Hospital also met CEC, conveyed their congratulations on the new Council Secretariat building, and held discussions on pertinent issues concerning their service and welfare.
Further, the Executive Members of the Ex-Servicemen League, Ladakh, accompanied by the Block President from Nubra, called on the CEC and extended their congratulations on the new Council Secretariat building. The CEC expressed his gratitude to all the delegations for their visit.
