Jammu, Oct 27: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta has hailed the assurance of former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that all formalities for allotting five marla land to landless families hit by recent floods, cloudbursts, and landslides have been completed.
Speaking to media persons at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan in Jammu, Gupta commended the Omar Abdullah-led government for what he described as a decisive and compassionate approach toward rehabilitation and relief. He said the administration’s swift action in finalizing land allotment formalities reflected its commitment to rebuilding lives in the aftermath of natural calamities that devastated several parts of Jammu.
Gupta underscored that the government’s outreach to the Central authorities for a comprehensive relief package was timely and transparent. Expressing optimism, he said that the assistance, once released, would be distributed equitably among affected families without any bias or political influence.
Reaffirming the National Conference’s pledge to inclusive growth and social justice, Gupta maintained that the party stands shoulder to shoulder with the flood-affected population. He asserted that the leadership remains focused on ensuring that every victim receives due support, emphasizing that rehabilitation must be guided by fairness, efficiency, and empathy.
He further remarked that the government’s decision to provide land to landless families demonstrates its long-term vision for sustainable rehabilitation and marks a significant step toward restoring normalcy in the worst-hit regions of Jammu.
