Jammu: In a significant display of military vigilance along the Line of Control (LoC), Lieutenant General P K Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, conducted a comprehensive visit to forward areas in Akhnoor on Tuesday to assess operational preparedness amid ongoing security challenges in Jammu and Kashmir. The high-level inspection underscores the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to maintaining robust defenses in this strategically vital sector, where cross-border threats remain a persistent concern.

Accompanied by senior field commanders, Lt Gen Mishra engaged directly with troops deployed in the forward-most positions, gaining firsthand insights into the ground realities along the LoC. The soldiers, stationed in challenging terrains under constant vigilance, provided detailed briefings on the array of measures implemented to fortify defenses. These included advanced surveillance systems, fortified bunkers, and tactical enhancements aimed at bolstering operational effectiveness and rapid response capabilities against potential infiltrations or ceasefire violations.

The GOC emphasized the critical importance of sustained readiness, praising the troops for their resilience, professionalism, and high morale despite harsh weather and prolonged deployments. Discussions also covered logistical support, training regimens, and integration of modern weaponry to counter evolving threats from across the border. Lt Gen Mishra reiterated that the White Knight Corps stands fully prepared to thwart any adversarial designs, ensuring the safety of local civilians and territorial integrity.

This visit comes at a time of heightened alertness in the region, with recent intelligence inputs pointing to possible militant activities. By reviewing these forward deployments, the Army leadership aims to fine-tune strategies for seamless coordination between infantry units, artillery support, and aerial reconnaissance. The interaction served as a morale booster for the jawans, reinforcing the chain of command’s focus on their welfare and combat efficiency.

Military officials described the exercise as routine yet pivotal, reflecting the Army’s proactive posture in Jammu’s sensitive border belts. As tensions simmer along the LoC, such inspections play a key role in upholding operational supremacy and deterring provocations. The White Knight Corps, responsible for safeguarding the entire Jammu sector, continues to exemplify operational excellence in service of the nation.
