Panaji, May 27: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi along with his family, and said it was an emotional moment for his father, a former Jana Sangh leader.
Sawant’s wife, daugther, and his father accompanied him as he called on Modi at Seva Teerth, the Chief Minister’s Office said.
Pandurang Sawant, the chief minister’s father, was a prominent leader of the Jana Sangh, the predcessor of the BJP, in the coastal state.
“Delighted and privileged to call on the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji along with my family at Seva Teerth,” Sawant said in a post on X.
“Especially emotional for my Pappa, who began his journey of social work through the Jana Sangh and has carried that spirit of seva forward all his life,” he said.
“Heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble PM for continuing to inspire crores of Karyakartas in the service of the nation,” Sawant added
