Leh, Feb 13: Students and faculty members from Government High School, Hanle undertook an academic exposure visit to the Leh campus of the University of Ladakh on Friday to gain first-hand insight into higher education facilities available in the region.
The visit, organised as part of a school–university outreach initiative, was aimed at familiarising students with campus life, academic infrastructure and future study pathways within Ladakh.
During the tour, the students were taken through smart classrooms, modern laboratories and library facilities. They were also shown the centrally heated, winter-friendly classrooms designed to ensure uninterrupted teaching during the region’s severe winter months.
The visiting group expressed appreciation for the campus gymnasium, advanced laboratory infrastructure and the well-maintained academic spaces that support learning in extreme climatic conditions.
The delegation later interacted with Saket Kushwaha, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh, who welcomed the students and urged them to remain focused on their academic goals. He encouraged them to consider the university as a future destination for higher studies.
Registrar Nawang Tundup briefed the students on the university’s student-oriented administrative support system and hostel facilities.
Dean Research Sonam Joldan spoke about emerging research opportunities and the scope for interdisciplinary learning at the university.
In addition, Stanzin Mantok, In-charge Dean of Students’ Welfare, introduced the students to extracurricular activities, National Service Scheme participation and the overall campus environment.
The university authorities stated that such outreach visits form part of the institution’s continued effort to strengthen school–university linkages and to guide young learners from remote areas towards quality higher education within Ladakh.
