Drass, May 23 : Government Degree College (GDC) Drass on Friday organised a counselling and awareness session at Government Higher Secondary School Drass to guide students on undergraduate admissions, subject selection and future career opportunities.
The programme was attended by recently passed Class 12 students along with students currently studying in Classes 11 and 12. The session aimed to familiarise students with the admission process, academic environment and educational opportunities available at the college.
Assistant Professor of Environmental Science and Convener Admissions, Sajad Hussain, addressed the students and provided detailed information regarding admission procedures, available courses, subject combinations and career prospects associated with different academic streams.
Principal of GDC Drass, Nasir Mehdi Shabani, delivered a presentation highlighting the institution’s infrastructure, academic facilities, co-curricular activities, scholarship schemes and student support services. He emphasised the college’s commitment towards providing quality higher education and promoting holistic development of students in the region.
Faculty members from various departments also interacted with students and responded to queries concerning subject choices, career planning and future academic opportunities.
Assistant Professor of Physics, Rizwan Ali, explained the undergraduate admission procedure in detail and urged students to make informed academic choices aligned with their interests and career goals.
The programme witnessed active participation from students, who engaged in discussions with faculty members regarding higher education opportunities and career pathways.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Rizwan Ali, followed by refreshments for the participants.
