Jammu Feb 20: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch J&K has filed a chargesheet in FIR No. 20/2025 under Sections 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) IPC before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Srinagar. It names four accused in a fraud case involving fake promises of medical college admission in Bangladesh.
A Srinagar resident’s relative, Peerzada Aabid from Bijbehara (now at Azad Basti, Natipora), introduced him to Syed Wasim, owner of M/s Europe Consultancy Centre in Pulwama (also at Azad Basti, Natipora). They connected him with Syed Suhail Aijaz from Kokernag (at Muslim Abad, Bemina) and Zaigam Khan from Bemina, owners of Overseas Consultancy. The group assured admission for the complainant’s son at Park View Medical College and took lakhs in fees.
Investigation showed they deposited only USD 8,000 (about ₹6.04 lakhs at 2021 rates), leaving the rest unpaid. The student was kicked out. Bank records, college communications, and witness statements proved the scam. The case is now in court.
