LEH: As part of its community outreach efforts under Operation Sadbhavana, the Fire & Fury Corps of the Indian Army on Monday organised a self-defence training camp for students in Tia village, aimed at promoting personal safety, confidence and preparedness among young participants.
The programme brought together students from the village for practical training sessions conducted by Army personnel, who demonstrated basic self-defence techniques, situational awareness measures and emergency response strategies.
Officials said the initiative was designed to equip students with essential skills to identify potential threats, respond effectively in difficult situations and seek timely assistance when required. The training also focused on enhancing self-confidence and encouraging a proactive approach towards personal safety.
Alongside the practical sessions, participants engaged in interactive discussions on health, well-being and responsible decision-making. The programme sought to instil values of discipline, self-reliance and resilience among the youth while encouraging greater awareness of safety-related issues.
The camp forms part of the Army’s broader outreach activities in remote areas of Ladakh under Operation Sadbhavana, which focuses on community development, youth engagement and educational empowerment.
Army officials said such initiatives are intended to create opportunities for skill development and foster positive engagement with local communities, particularly among young people living in geographically isolated regions.
