LEH: As part of the its ongoing Operation Sadbhavana, the Fire & Fury Corps of Indian Army on Friday conducted a multi-speciality medical camp at Tia village in Ladakh.
Pertinently, the Operation Sadbhavana (meaning ‘Goodwill’) is the flagship humanitarian and civil action programme of Indian Army in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh union territories.
Active since 1998, the operation focuses on education, healthcare, infrastructure, women’s empowerment, and community development in areas with limited access to government services.
The healthcare initiatives, including multi-speciality medical camps, have been a cornerstone of the programme, delivering essential medical support to remote and underserved populations in the region.
The key highlights of the multi-speciality medical camp were the active participation of civilian doctors specialising in Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Physician, Dermatology, Orthopaedics and Pulmonology.
Meanwhile, the free consultations and treatments were also provided to the local civilians, Ex-Servicemen and their families in the remote high-altitude Tia Village.
The initiative reaffirms the Fire & Fury Corps’ commitment to the well-being of people in Ladakh’s frontier areas.
Moreover, the camp addressed critical healthcare needs in a region where access to specialised medical services is severely limited due to geographical isolation and extreme weather conditions.
It is relevant to mention here that the Tia Village, situated in a remote high-altitude region of Ladakh, faces persistent challenges in accessing quality healthcare due to its geographical isolation and harsh climatic conditions.
The initiative directly benefited numerous local civilians and Ex-Servicemen families by providing specialised medical consultations and treatments that would otherwise be unavailable.
Additionally, the effort underscores the Fire & Fury Corps’ dedication to holistic development and ensuring the health and welfare of citizens in sensitive border areas, fostering trust and national integration.
