Srinagar, March 17 : A massive fire broke out early Tuesday at Asal Resort in Pahalgam, south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, gutting three structures of the hotel and a vehicle, officials said.
Though no one was killed in the blaze itself, an employee of a nearby hotel died after being hit by a reversing fire tender as firefighters withdrew from the scene.
Multiple LPG cylinder blasts at the site hampered the operation, making it difficult for several fire tenders to control the flames. The situation was later brought under control, but the exact cause of the fire remains unclear and is under investigation.
