LEH: The Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army on Monday organised yoga sessions at Sangam Hill Military Station in Ladakh as part of the build-up to International Yoga Day 2026, with a focus on promoting physical fitness, mental resilience and overall well-being among troops.
The programme featured demonstrations and guided practice sessions aimed at encouraging personnel to incorporate yoga into their daily routine as a means of enhancing physical endurance, emotional balance and mindfulness.
Army officials said the initiative was intended to reinforce the importance of holistic health and underscore the role of yoga in maintaining operational readiness, particularly in the demanding high-altitude environment of Ladakh.
During the sessions, participants were introduced to a range of yogic practices and breathing techniques designed to improve concentration, flexibility and stress management. The exercises also highlighted yoga’s contribution to fostering inner strength and psychological well-being.
The event forms part of a series of activities being conducted by the Army in the run-up to International Yoga Day, observed annually on June 21, to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga and encourage its wider adoption.
Officials noted that regular yoga practice complements the physical and mental demands of military service by promoting discipline, self-awareness and a balanced lifestyle.
The programme concluded with active participation from troops, reflecting the Army’s continued emphasis on wellness initiatives that support both physical preparedness and mental fitness in challenging operational conditions.
