Jammu, Sep 20: The Finance Department of the Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued a comprehensive transfer and posting order involving ninety-seven Assistant Accounts Officers across various departments. The directive, formalized through Order No. 104-Acctts of 2025, was issued by the Directorate General of Accounts and Treasuries and has been made effective immediately.
The reshuffle covers postings in the Civil Secretariat as well as departmental offices and district establishments. The order places officers in critical administrative wings including the Agriculture Production Department, Housing and Urban Development Department, Jal Shakti (PHE) Department, Transport Commissioner’s office, Public Service Commission, Planning and Development, Social Welfare, Tourism, Skill Development, and Rural Development institutions.
Among the notable changes, Bajinder Singh has been shifted from the Agriculture Production Department to the Social Welfare Department, while Vinu Koul has moved from Housing and Urban Development to Tourism. Sunil Kumar Pandita, who was awaiting adjustment, has been placed in the Codes Division of the Finance Department, and Anil Kumar has taken charge in the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department. Similarly, Rohit Qazi has been posted to the Codes Division, Bharat Bushan to Public Works (R&B), and several others have been realigned to streamline departmental functioning.
The order also assigns additional charges in select cases, indicating the government’s intent to maintain continuity of operations while ensuring administrative efficiency. Officers like Abdul Rashid Dar and Kamal Singh Pathania have been entrusted with new responsibilities while retaining roles that sustain operational requirements.
The wide-ranging transfers are aimed at reinforcing accountability within departments and optimizing deployment of the Accounts cadre across sectors. By redistributing officials across departments and districts, the Finance Department seeks to strengthen financial oversight, ensure transparency in administrative transactions, and enhance support for ongoing developmental activities.
The fresh postings come in the backdrop of an ongoing exercise by the government to energize institutional structures and bring greater responsiveness within the financial administration of Jammu and Kashmir.
