Leh, Sept 06: A large health screening drive at EJM College, Leh, drew faculty, students, and staff to the Multipurpose Hall on Saturday, marking a proactive push for community wellness on campus. The initiative was jointly organized by the college’s First Aid Room Committee and the District Tuberculosis Centre, Leh.
The camp began with a welcome by Dr. Sonam Wangmo, Convenor of the First Aid Room Committee. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Anwar, Campaign Organizer from the District Tuberculosis Centre, spoke on the preventive value of health screenings and urged participants to stay alert against lifestyle and respiratory ailments. He also emphasized the importance of lung health while outlining the “Tuberculosis Free India Campaign” of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In his remarks, Mr. Anwar extended gratitude to College Principal Prof. Stanzin Yangdol for facilitating the camp. The screening covered chest examinations alongside checks for blood sugar, blood pressure, and Body Mass Index. The process was conducted smoothly, drawing active participation from students, faculty, and non-teaching staff, underscoring the growing awareness around preventive healthcare in the region.
