Leh, Oct 06: Ladakh continues to remain peaceful, with regular civic activities — schools, offices, and markets — functioning normally on Monday. Reviewing the situation, Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta directed officials to maintain a continued focus on public safety, inter-departmental coordination, and uninterrupted progress in developmental works across the Union Territory.
Chairing a high-level meeting in Leh to assess the region’s security scenario, the Lt Governor expressed satisfaction over the prevailing calm and commended the cooperation of the people and the efforts of security forces in maintaining order. He emphasised that the peace and stability enjoyed by Ladakh were the result of joint efforts by the administration, law enforcement agencies, and the public.
“Peace and development are interlinked, and both require constant vigilance and collective responsibility,” Gupta said, urging officials to remain alert and proactive in addressing any emerging challenges.
Highlighting the significance of community participation, the Lt Governor called upon citizens to report suspicious activities and continue supporting the administration and security forces in safeguarding the region. He underlined that public vigilance forms a crucial pillar of Ladakh’s long-term stability and progress.
Gupta further urged residents to preserve Ladakh’s cultural and environmental heritage while contributing to sustainable growth. “Peaceful coexistence and active community engagement will ensure that Ladakh continues to prosper safely,” he remarked.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to balancing security measures with citizens’ daily needs, the Lt Governor said efforts were underway to strengthen public safety infrastructure while ensuring minimal disruption to normal life. He encouraged greater public participation in local initiatives aimed at fostering unity and development.
Concluding the review, Gupta reiterated that Ladakh’s progress depends on the collective resolve of the government, security agencies, and the public. He appealed for patience, cooperation, and unity, asserting that “a vigilant, informed, and responsible public is the cornerstone of a secure and thriving Ladakh.”
