Tel Aviv, September 30: A commercial aircraft travelling from Dubai to Israel was diverted to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after issuing a distress call, briefly raising concerns about a possible hijacking.
The aircraft made an emergency landing in Tabuk, which hosts both civilian and military facilities in the kingdom. The incident also prompted Israel to scramble fighter jets as a precautionary measure.
According to Israeli media reports citing security officials, the situation was reportedly linked to a dispute between the aircraft’s two pilots.
Officials said all passengers and crew members were safe, and the aircraft landed without further incident.
