Kargil, Oct 01: In a bid to strengthen the quality of teaching and learning in government schools, Ms. Tashi Dolma, JKAS, Director School Education Ladakh, visited the Residential Coaching Classes at Government High School, Poyen. The visit was aimed at reviewing academic standards and assessing the facilities provided to students under the initiative.
During her interaction with students and teachers, the Director assessed the academic progress and learning outcomes. She went through class test notebooks and lesson plans, evaluating the quality of instructional practices and student performance. Students shared their feedback about the coaching environment and highlighted areas where additional support could enhance their preparation.
Taking serious note of the non-utilisation of Smart Board facilities during classroom teaching, Ms. Dolma directed the Head of Institution (HOI) to ensure the optimal use of digital teaching aids for effective, interactive, and modern learning practices. She emphasized that technology provided in schools must be integrated into the daily teaching process to maximize student benefit.
Apart from academics, the Director also inspected the residential facilities at the school, including boarding arrangements, hygiene standards, and amenities provided to students. She instructed the concerned staff to maintain a conducive and supportive environment for learners, enabling them to focus on their studies without difficulty.
The visit underlined the commitment of the Education Department Ladakh to monitor ground-level implementation of government initiatives, ensuring that both quality education and student welfare remain central priorities.
