Leh, Apr 1: A high-level delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District Unit Drass in Kargil district on Tuesday met party’s Union Territory president Tashi Gyaltsan Khachu at the party headquarters in Leh, submitting a detailed representation outlining a range of developmental and administrative concerns affecting the Drass region.
The delegation, led by District President Drass Faiz Ahmed Qari, included senior executive members of the unit. During the meeting, the leaders apprised the state leadership of issues they described as critical to the region’s growth and governance, seeking timely intervention from both the Union Territory administration and the Centre.
Khachu, who held an extended interaction with the delegation, listened to the concerns and held discussions on possible measures to address them. He also acknowledged the organisational efforts of the Drass unit, noting its continued engagement with local communities and its role in raising public issues at the appropriate forums.
Assuring follow-up action, the BJP UT president said that the matters highlighted in the memorandum would be taken up with the concerned authorities. He added that efforts would be made to ensure that the concerns are addressed within a defined timeframe through coordination with the administration and relevant government agencies.
The meeting forms part of the party’s ongoing outreach with district-level units across Ladakh, aimed at consolidating feedback from remote regions and facilitating communication between grassroots representatives and decision-makers.
