Kargil: Dr Sajjad Hussain, Consultant Surgeon at District Hospital Kargil, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Association of Surgeons of India, FAIS.
The honour was awarded during the 85th Convocation of ASI at ASICON–2025, held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Dr Hussain received the fellowship from the President of the Association of Surgeons of India, Professor Dr Pravin R. Suryawanshi, in recognition of his distinction as a surgeon and his outstanding contribution to the field of surgery.
ASICON is the largest surgical conference in the country, with participation from leading surgeons from India and abroad.
The four-day conference serves as a major platform for advancements in modern surgical care, innovation, and medical education.
The Association of Surgeons of India is the largest surgical body in the country and the second largest in the world, with a membership of over forty-one thousand surgeons.
