Srinagar, June 16: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh on Monday attended the 59th Pre-Retirement Counselling (PRC) Workshop at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. The workshop was organized by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.
The event was conducted in collaboration with the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and banking authorities, aiming to guide government employees approaching retirement on various aspects of pension benefits, financial planning, healthcare, and post-retirement life management.
Sharing details of his participation, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the workshop serves as an important platform to ensure a smooth transition for retiring employees by providing them with comprehensive information about pension-related procedures and welfare schemes.
The Union Minister highlighted the Centre’s continued efforts to strengthen pension administration through digital initiatives, timely grievance redressal, and improved service delivery for pensioners across the country. He emphasized that such counselling programmes help retiring employees better understand their entitlements and prepare for a secure and productive life after government service.
Officials from the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, senior representatives of the Jammu and Kashmir administration, and banking sector officials participated in the workshop and interacted with employees nearing retirement.
The programme forms part of the Government of India’s ongoing initiative to enhance awareness among retiring personnel and ensure that pension-related benefits are delivered efficiently and transparently.
