Leh, Aug 16: The spirit of patriotism resonated in the air as Delhi Public School (DPS), Leh, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with grandeur and enthusiasm on Thursday. Students, staff, and parents gathered on the school campus to pay homage to the nation and its martyrs.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the Tricolour by the school’s Director, Retired Major General Mohinder Sagoch, followed by the soulful rendition of the National Anthem. The sight of the fluttering flag against the Ladakhi sky filled the audience with pride and reverence.
Addressing the gathering, Major General Sagoch delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the values of patriotism, discipline, and responsibility. He reminded the students of the immense sacrifices made by freedom fighters and called upon the young generation to actively contribute to nation-building. His words struck a chord with the audience, evoking a renewed sense of duty and pride towards the country.
