SRINAGAR, Mar 25: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg categorically dismissed circulating rumours of an impending lockdown, urging citizens to stay calm and depend solely on official channels for verified updates.
Addressing reporters, Garg clarified, “No lockdown decision has been made by the government. Any such measure would be formally announced. Essential commodities’ stocks are under constant monitoring with assured availability and distribution.”
He issued a stern warning against rumour mongers, stating strict action awaits those spreading misinformation while emphasizing reliance on government handles for authentic information.
On security, Garg reported a stable situation under regular joint reviews by district administration and police, with tourist spots reopening and strong visitor inflows.
Highlighting the vibrant tourism season, he noted close monitoring of Tulip Garden footfall and extended invitations for tourists to explore Kashmir’s spring-summer attractions in large numbers.
