Leh, Mar 27: In preparation for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, the District Election Office Leh on Thursday conducted a hands-on training session for field-level election functionaries at the DC Conference Hall, aiming to ensure accuracy and efficiency in voter data management.
The training programme brought together Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), BLO Supervisors and District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs), with a focus on strengthening procedural clarity and technical readiness for the revision exercise.
The session was facilitated by State Level Master Trainers, Mr. Aftikar Ali and Ms. Chozin Palmo, who guided participants through the process of verification and updating of electoral rolls. The training emphasised adherence to prescribed procedures and adoption of best practices to minimise errors during the revision process.
Held under the supervision of Electoral Registration Officer Leh, Mr. Mukul Beniwal (IAS), and Assistant Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Delex Namgial, the programme formed part of a broader effort to enhance the capacity of election staff engaged in field operations.
Officials said the exercise is intended to equip personnel with the required skills to carry out systematic verification, ensuring that electoral rolls remain accurate and up to date. The training also underscored the importance of coordination among various levels of election machinery during the revision period.
The Special Intensive Revision, currently underway, is a routine but crucial exercise aimed at maintaining the integrity of electoral records by incorporating eligible voters and removing discrepancies.
