Jammu, Dec 21: Traffic Police Rural Jammu issued a comprehensive advisory Saturday amid persistent dense fog over the past two days, cautioning motorists about severely reduced visibility, potential accidents, and traffic snarls across multiple areas.
SSP Traffic Rural Jammu directed drivers to switch on low-beam or fog lights, cut speeds drastically, keep a 4-6 second gap from the vehicle ahead, ensure clear windscreens with defrosters, and stay vigilant for pedestrians, cyclists, and slow traffic at junctions, flyovers, and highway exits.
Commuters were urged to obey all signs and markings, shun overtaking or abrupt maneuvers, plan extra travel time, charge phones for emergencies, signal early, and skip non-essential trips; helpline contacts remain available for support during these hazardous conditions.
