NEW DELHI, Feb 21: Delhi Police told Patiala House Court Saturday that 4 Youth Congress activists arrested for the dramatic shirtless protest at AI Impact Summit deliberately mimicked Nepal’s Gen-Z protests as part of an international conspiracy to tarnish India’s image.
Police sought 5-day custody, alleging the accused used QR codes to enter Bharat Mandapam Hall No. 5 wearing sweaters over anti-Modi/Trump T-shirts (“PM Compromised,” “India-US Trade Deal”). They stripped, waved shirts, and shouted anti-national slogans amid global delegates—initially planning black umbrella stickers but switching tactics.
Investigation officer cited a “deep conspiracy”: 3 cops injured, phones/mobiles missing, T-shirts printed across 4 locations, other accused fled. Defence claimed political targeting and protest rights, but police insisted custody needed for funding trails and full probe. Court reserved order.
