New Delhi, May 5: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met the families of Vivek Vihar fire tragedy victims on Tuesday, saying her government is committed to providing every possible assistance to them.
Nine people, including a toddler, died in the fire at a four-storey building in East Delhi’s Vivek Vihar on Sunday morning.
In a post on X, the chief minister said, taking the unfortunate incident as a “grave” warning, instructions have been issued to all the departments concerned to prevent recurrence by strictly following the highest standards of fire safety.
“Any negligence or compromise on fire safety standards will not be tolerated,” she said.
