NYOMA : A comprehensive Medical and Dental Camp was organised at the Community Hall in Nyoma under the Government of India’s Vibrant Village Programme, providing healthcare services and medical consultations to residents of the remote border region.
The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Changthang, Nitish Rajora, IAS, in the presence of Maj Amit Kumar, Officer Commanding, 124 RCC. The initiative was aimed at improving access to healthcare services in remote areas while promoting awareness about preventive healthcare and oral hygiene.
The medical outreach programme was led by Capt. Harinarayanan and Capt. Jovitha, along with their team of healthcare professionals. During the camp, residents underwent detailed medical and dental examinations and received expert consultations, essential medicines and guidance on maintaining healthy lifestyle practices.
Around 100 civilians from Nyoma and adjoining areas availed themselves of the services offered during the camp, reflecting the importance of such initiatives in addressing healthcare needs in geographically challenging regions.
In addition to treatment and consultations, the medical team conducted awareness sessions on disease prevention, personal health management and oral hygiene, encouraging residents to adopt preventive healthcare measures.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the healthcare support extended through the camp and welcomed the outreach effort, which brought specialised medical services closer to remote communities.
The programme concluded with a positive response from local residents and underscored the ongoing efforts under the Vibrant Village Programme to strengthen essential services and improve the quality of life in border villages.
