DRASS : Deputy Commissioner Drass, Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS), reviewed the functioning of the Animal Husbandry Department and inspected ongoing works at the newly constructed office building of the Block Veterinary Officer (BVO), directing officials to ensure timely completion of the project and strengthen service delivery to livestock owners across the district.

During his visit to the BVO Office, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress of infrastructure development and reviewed facilities being created to support veterinary and animal husbandry services in the newly formed district.

The Deputy Commissioner inspected the ongoing construction works and emphasised adherence to quality standards while completing the remaining components of the project within the prescribed timeframe. He observed that robust infrastructure would play an important role in improving access to veterinary care and enhancing support for the livestock sector, which remains an important source of livelihood for many households in the district.

Block Veterinary Officer Dr. Amina Naqvi briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the facilities being developed in the new office complex and outlined the expected benefits for livestock farmers and local residents. She informed him about the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen veterinary services and improve institutional capacity in the district.

Interacting with officials and staff members, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the department’s work and underscored the need for citizen-centric service delivery. He directed officials to ensure that residents receive hassle-free access to departmental services and are adequately informed about welfare programmes and development schemes available under the Animal Husbandry sector.

He also stressed the importance of wider dissemination of information regarding existing and newly introduced schemes so that eligible beneficiaries across the district can avail themselves of government support and services.

The visit formed part of the district administration’s ongoing review of public infrastructure and service delivery mechanisms aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and improving access to essential services in Drass.
