Nyoma, May 20 : Deputy Commissioner Changthang, Nitish Rajora on Tuesday chaired a review meeting of the Education Department to assess academic progress and the performance of students in Classes 10 and 12 across the Changthang region.

The meeting, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office chamber, was attended by Zonal Education Officers, principals and headmasters from schools in the Nyoma and Durbuk subdivisions.

The review focused on examination results, pass percentages and the overall academic status of educational institutions functioning in the region. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need to improve educational standards and ensure stronger academic outcomes for students.

He stressed the importance of identifying students requiring additional academic support and directed the concerned officials to strengthen monitoring, mentoring and guidance mechanisms at the school level.

The Zonal Education Officers of Nyoma and Durbuk, along with school heads, presented detailed PowerPoint presentations outlining student enrolment figures, board examination performance, subject-wise results and institutional academic progress.

Discussions were also held on strategies aimed at improving learning outcomes and enhancing pass percentages in the coming academic sessions.

Officials said the review meeting formed part of the administration’s continued efforts to strengthen the quality of education and academic performance in schools across the Changthang region.
