Leh, Mar 10: Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Ashish Kundra on Monday welcomed Vinai Kumar Saxena following his appointment as the new Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory.
In a message shared on social media, Kundra expressed pleasure in receiving Saxena in Ladakh and described the development as an opportunity to once again work under his leadership. “Formally welcomed Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lt Governor Delhi as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. A unique opportunity to work under his guidance once again,” Kundra wrote.
The message also reflected the earlier professional association between the two officers. Kundra had served as Principal Secretary to Saxena during the latter’s tenure as Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, where both officials worked closely on administrative matters in the national capital.
Officials indicated that Saxena’s arrival in Ladakh comes at a time when the Union Territory administration is working towards strengthening governance mechanisms and accelerating infrastructure development across remote and strategically located regions.
The administration is also focusing on widening access to public services and improving connectivity in far-flung areas of the cold desert region. Saxena’s tenure is expected to guide the ongoing efforts aimed at balanced development and institutional capacity building across the Union Territory.
Senior officers of the Ladakh administration have begun engaging with the new Lieutenant Governor as the administration prepares to carry forward its development agenda in the high-altitude region.
