Anantnag, Jul 21: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Tuesday participated in the Murti Pratishthan Divas celebrations at the historic Mata Uma Bhagwati Shrine in Umanagri, Brariangan, Shangus, where a two-day Yagya and other religious programmes were organised by the Uma Bhagwati Asthapan Trust.
As the chief guest, Dulloo paid obeisance at the shrine, offered prayers for peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir, and took part in the Kalash Pooja and other sacred rituals.
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, senior district officials, members of the Trust and a large number of devotees were also present.
Highlighting the Government’s commitment to preserving the region’s religious and cultural heritage, the Chief Secretary said the ongoing conservation project at the shrine would be expanded to include additional works aimed at improving facilities while maintaining the sanctity and historical significance of the shrine.
The Uma Bhagwati Asthapan Trust thanked the Chief Secretary for attending the celebrations and assuring continued support for the shrine’s preservation and development. The Trust also appreciated the efforts of the Deputy Commissioner and district administration in ensuring smooth arrangements for the event.
