Jaipur, June 16 : Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke was allegedly assaulted during a protest in Jaipur on Monday, with videos from the scene showing him being slapped repeatedly by at least two individuals while participating in a demonstration against alleged irregularities in the education sector.
The protest was organized at Shaheed Smarak as part of the CJP’s nationwide campaign demanding accountability over NEET and other examination paper leaks, as well as raising concerns over unemployment and broader education-related issues.
According to videos circulating on social media, Dipke was being carried on the shoulders of supporters when a man allegedly grabbed him by a cloth around his neck before he and another individual began slapping and hitting him. The attackers were later confronted by CJP supporters, leading to a brief scuffle at the protest site.
Police intervened and detained six people in connection with the incident. Authorities said the matter is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
Speaking after the incident, Dipke said the attack would not deter the organisation from continuing its campaign. He reiterated that the Cockroach Janta Party remains committed to holding peaceful protests across the country.
The CJP, which began as a satirical movement, had earlier announced plans to stage demonstrations nationwide if its demands regarding alleged examination irregularities and education reforms were not addressed.
No serious injuries were reported in the incident.
