Srinagar, Apr 9: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah handed over appointment orders under SRO‑43 and the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS) to 90 beneficiaries from the Kashmir Division at a function held here. The move comes as part of the government’s ongoing drive to clear the backlog of compassionate and rehabilitation‑linked appointments for families of deceased government employees.
A similar event was organised earlier this week in Jammu, where the Chief Minister distributed appointment orders to an even larger number of candidates. Minister Javed Dar, Minister Satish Sharma, and Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Ahmed Dogra were present on the occasion, along with senior administrative and civil‑service officers.
The administration described the exercise as a key step towards providing livelihood support to affected families while reinforcing transparency and efficiency in the implementation of SRO‑43 and RAS provisions.
